Christmas is my favorite time of year. Over the years, I have worn Andrew down to allow me to start decorating after Halloween. No, I don't skip over Thanksgiving--it's all blended together because it's all awesome. All a time for family, being thankful, and looking forward to making people happy. And, of course, focusing, and refocusing if necessary, our lives on our Savior. I LOVE it!
Anyway, we got a late start this year--we actually didn't put up our inside Christmas decorations until AFTER Thanksgiving. Craziness! We've been super busy. However, Andrew did get up the lights a couple weeks previously. So, it was still awesome.
Here's the fam hard at work:
| Getting out the Christmas tree. I prefer a real one, but with how long I love it out, a real one wouldn't last. |
| Rearranged the furniture so that the tree could face out our gorgeous bay windows. LOVE that! And it's next to the piano for caroling!!! |
| Jacob loves to help Daddy. |
| Checking the colors.... |
| Time to stop for hugs.... |
| Bekah wanted hugs, too. |
| I played Christmas carols... |
| Andrew perfecting the tree and its lights. |
| And I made treats...okay, it doesn't look good. The white stuff is marshmallow creme mixed in to the brownies. It was SO good! And Jacob's favorite thing is brownies. ;) |
| Andrew later added to the evening by making us his gourmet burgers like In N' Out...but BETTER! |
| Of course, in our family, what is a family holiday without some sort of injury? I can't remember what Bekah did to her foot. But I do remember that she cried. A lot. |
| Hanging out with Grandma, snuggling. |
| And my first, and only, homemade (yes, from scratch!) apple pie. It was DANG good! |
